Fundraising Goes to the Police Dogs

Police dogs play an integral role in law enforcement.  Their strong sniffers are necessary in search and rescue missions, as well as detecting bombs and illegal drugs.  But the cost of buying and training a police dog costs around $25,000!  Luckily, Glendale K-9s in the Park, a yearly event, raises thousands for Glendale, California police dogs.  This past Saturday, over $30,000 was donated for the K9s.

"...the event doubled as a family affair, with moon bounces, face painting and barbecues. Present were scores of pet vendors and animal shelters, as well as city employees who administered close to two dozen pet licenses, officials said."

For more information on how you can donate to your community's K9 program, call your local police department.
